Worker's compensation injuries

worker with back painWe treat  all kinds of injuries to the spine and extremities  due to injuries on the job, or worker's compensation injuries.

Unfortunately in New Jersey, we have what is known as a strong employer/weak employee Worker's comp  law.

Q1: So what are your rights?

If you are  injured  on the job, your empoyer has  a few days to report the injury, or face stiff State  penalties  (currently  about $2500.00  fines).

The employer  is fully responsible to pay for all  necessary  medical  bills (yes, that includes Chiropractic), required to return  you to condition you were in before your injury.

BUT: Since all employers  are required to have worker's compensation insurance, under this anti-worker law, it is the insurance  carrier  who  has the final say as to what doctor's they will  pay for.

Q2: So how do I get covered for Chiropractic  care?

All you really need up front is for someone  above you at work to sign a little form that says you may see your own doctor.   What kind of doctor is irrelevant, as Chiropractors are Physicians under NJ law.  When you come here with the form signed, you are covered for 100% of our bill, until we actually send the bill to the carrier.

Q3:  What happens then?   or, what happens if I already saw the "Company doctor"?

In this event, you MUST go their doctor; but you are NOT required to submit to whatever they choose to do to you. Ask our advise, and speak to a lawyer. If you don't have a lawyer who handles Worker's comp cases, then ask us and we'll refer you to competent counsel.  At this point, your Attorney will write a letter to the employer saying that you have seen the "Company doctor" and are not happy with the proposed plan of treatment, and demand to now see your own doctor. Then see Q2  above.

Call 201-569-1444  today for an appointment. And request the permission form (we'll fax or email it to you).
