Dr. Press Honored at World Congress

On April 6, in Rio de Janeiro, the World Federation of Chiropractic and the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS)  held a joint World Congress of Chiropractic at the Intercontinental Rio Hotel. 24 years ago, Dr. Stephen Press founded the International Federation of Sports  Chiropractic  (known as the FICS, from its name in French), at a meeting in London, at the beautiful  Kensington Town Hall. At that time, the Presidents of 23 National Chiropractic Associations were present and the 20 who committed to participation voted to make Dr. Press  their first President.Recently, the Executive Committee  of what is now 100  national associations, with headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, and administrative offices in Toronto, voted to honor their  past-presidents with a beautiful gold medal made in South Africa, and later that day their Founder with a magnificent engraved crystal trophy reading "FICS'  Founder's Award".
