Chief Olympic Team Physician A 4th generation American, Dr Press is the only foreigner to have served as "Chief Physician" for the Soviet Union's Olympic Team, then called "Unified Team", the, by that time former Soviet Union's designation at the Winter Olympic games in Albertville, France in 1992. He was appointed by Soviet Minister of Sport, Hon. Nicolai I. Rusak. Dr. Press views his unique experience as his small contribution to the demise of communism in the USSR. Dr. Press was also the only Doctor of Chiropractic officially serving a national olympic team in Albertville. Interesting Olympic fact: Since Dr. Press was appointed by the Minister of Sports of the USSR, and by the time the Olympics at Albertville opened there was no more Soviet Union, the 15 former Republics marched into Albertville as the Unified Team under the flag of the IOC. Thus, Dr. Press is the only physician of any kind ever to have attended the Olympic Games as the Chief Doctor for 15 Countries.
